How to enter and the standard rules
How to Enter:
It is quick and easy to make a submission for the 2009 Tourism ExSEllence Awards. Here are the simple guidelines that you need to follow.
- All entry submissions must be completed in full including supporting materials and must be received by 5pm Wednesday 8 July 2009.
- Entry submissions should take into account the general judging criteria outlined and category-specific notes, highlighting all relevant aspects of your organisation’s operation, services and products, innovation and commitment to quality. You can also refer to the detailed criteria contained in the entry forms.
- An entry can be accompanied by supporting information (eg brochures, leaflets, certificates, copies of awards. There is no limit on the amount of supporting information that can be submitted).
- Don’t forget, you can enter more than one category (please provide a separate entry for each).
- Entries should be submitted on line using the electronic entry form. Supporting material should be sent by post for the attention of Dan Holmes, Tourism ExSEllence Awards 2009, Tourism South East, Chamberlayne Road, Eastleigh, SO50 5JH
Standard Rules:
The following rules apply to all categories
- The awards are open to Tourism South East members and non-members.
- The majority of the awards are open to individual businesses and organisations. For most categories, groups (eg hotel groups, leisure chains, trade associations) cannot enter as an entity. The exception is the Tourism Website category where a group/company, association, local authority, consortium etc may enter a single website. All entrants must be based in the Tourism South East region.
- The eligibility and assessment period for activity covers 1 January 2008 - 31 May 2009. Entries will be judged on their performance during this period. Events, campaigns and other initiatives used as evidence should have taken place during this period.
- Judging, including visiting businesses in person, will take place during July and August 2009. A shortlist will be announced in September 2009. Each entry will be judged against the appropriate general and category-specific criteria.
- Judges will be drawn from across the entire spectrum of the tourism industry. No judges will assess a category in which they have a potential conflict of interest.
- Winning entries in the appropriate categories will be automatically entered into the 2010 Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, managed by VisitBritain.
- We are on hand to answer any queries about the entry process and criteria. Please contact Dan Holmes on 023 8062 5449 or email: getdiscovered2009@tourismse.com.
